My debut novel is one year old! So much has happened in just one short year, including another book publication, several short stories, and more of both forthcoming. I even got myself included in a Writer's Digest article....not bad!
This book will always hold a special place in my heart....the first draft was written in pencil at age 10 or 11, and I finally held the completed book in my hands at age 31. The story tells of 13-year old Ash Barker, running away from a foster home in search of her brother. On the way she meets two abused kids, Dayna and Kevin, and takes them with her. Ash also falls in love with Dayna on the way. I was so excited when the ABC Family series The Fosters came out this year and watched every episode! People who love that show should really enjoy my book. I even wrote an op-ed piece for Windy City Times about the show. (Link can be found here.)
To celebrate my one year debut novel anniversary, I would like to give away a free e-book! Please post any comment here, and next Wednesday I will have my two-year-old son pick a random winner. I will notify the winner to email me their e-preference from there! You can also still enter my Goodreads giveaway for a chance to win a paperback copy of both my books. (Link to both here.)
